Community Empowerment Through Vegetable Cultivation by De’ Lima Farmers

PT Yutaka Manufacturing Indonesia received appreciation through the Bekasi Regency Agriculture Office for the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the Income Generated Activity (IGA) pillar of community empowerment of vegetable farming farmer groups by utilizing sleeping land in the residential environment of Perum GAR, Telajung Village, West Cikarang District, which was inaugurated on March 20, 2025 by BOD PT YMI Kazuhiro Suzuki & Romi Mario Prihananto and attended by the Head of the Agriculture Office Bekasi Regency H. Abdillah Majid SH MM., Acting Head of Bappeda Bekasi Regency Ir. H. Didik Setadi, MM and Commission II of the Bekasi Regency DPRD Dra. Hj. Ani Rukmini M.I.kom.

The community empowerment program of farmer groups is designed to improve the standard of living through vegetable cultivation. This program aims to build a sustainable business as a source of additional income, besides that this program is also an effort to improve community nutrition because vegetables are an important source of nutrients, it helps improve community health and resilience and also vegetable cultivation programs help residents reduce dependence on the market and create food security at the household level.

It is hoped that vegetable cultivation through the use of sleeping land into productive agricultural land will be impacted in the future to other village areas in Bekasi Regency and can be a strategic step in supporting the achievement of Public Contribution in reaching beneficiaries through community development programs in accordance with the values of Catur Dharma Astra, namely Becoming a Beneficial Property for the Nation & State.

YMI’s CSR has launched a Digitation Village Program at Kampung Berseri Astra Cikedokan as one of the YMI’s foster village. This program has been formally inaugurated by the Pj Bupati Bekasi DR.H.Dani Ramdan MT himself, took place at Children Creativity Center “Anabela” Desa Cikedokan Cikarang Barat District area. This program was meant to realize the updated One Data Village, Acceleration of implementation Digital Platform all over the areas of KBA Cikedokan, as well as to improve and level up the business sector, economic value of superior product & tourism through digital technology utilization.
